AQUALYX EXPLAINED

Targeted fat reduction.
Considered contouring.

Aqualyx is an injectable body-contouring treatment used for selected small deposits of fat beneath the skin. It is intended to address localised, pinchable fat rather than overall weight or fat around internal organs.

Its deoxycholate-based formulation disrupts the membranes of targeted fat cells. The body gradually clears the damaged tissue through inflammatory and metabolic processes. Changes develop over time rather than immediately.

Treatment is not a substitute for a balanced lifestyle, and it does not treat every cause of fullness or loose skin. An assessment should establish whether your concern is suitable for this approach.

YOUR ASSESSMENT

Different areas.
Individual suitability.

Chin & lower face

Selected submental fat deposits may be assessed. Anatomy and skin laxity are important; fullness is not always caused by fat.

Abdomen & flanks

Small resistant deposits around the abdomen or waist may be discussed, particularly when body weight is stable.

Other body areas

Thighs, upper arms and other localised areas require individual assessment and confirmation that use is appropriate for the product.

WHAT TO EXPECT

Your treatment.
Your recovery.

Before treatment

Discuss your health, medicines, allergies, previous procedures and pregnancy or breastfeeding. The practitioner should explain the product, injection approach, alternatives and reasons treatment might be unsuitable.

Sessions & results

The number and spacing of sessions depend on the area and clinical assessment. Ask for a written plan and cost estimate. Results vary; no fixed number of sessions or final contour can be promised.

Recovery & possible complications

Swelling, tenderness, redness and bruising can occur. Injection treatments can also cause infection, uneven contour and tissue or nerve injury. Ask how complications are managed and who to contact after treatment.

Aftercare & review

Follow the specific written instructions given by your practitioner. Review progress after swelling settles, and seek prompt medical advice if pain, redness or swelling worsens or you develop other concerning symptoms.

AQUALYX FAQs

Know more.
Choose carefully.

Is it the same as liposuction?

No. Aqualyx is injected into selected fat deposits; liposuction surgically removes fat. Their suitability, risks and expected degree of change differ.

Can it help me lose weight?

It is a local contouring treatment, not a weight-loss programme. It does not target visceral fat.

Is there downtime?

Swelling and discomfort can affect normal activities. Plan recovery around the area treated and the advice provided; do not assume there will be no downtime.

How much does Aqualyx cost?

Cost depends on the area and proposed course. Request an itemised quotation including follow-up and any additional sessions.
