CAMBRIDGE / CHOOSING YOUR PRACTITIONER

Know the person.
Behind your care.

Use clear questions to understand qualifications, relevant experience and who takes responsibility for each stage of care.

Know who is
providing your care.

Before any procedure, ask for the practitioner’s full name, qualifications, relevant experience, professional registration and insurance.

For a doctor, check the GMC register and ask who will carry out the procedure and manage your aftercare. Professional registration alone does not establish expertise in every cosmetic treatment.

YOUR CARE / 01

Verify the person providing your care

Ask for the full name and professional registration of the practitioner. For doctors, use the GMC register to check their registration. Ask separately about relevant training and experience in the procedure being discussed.

Understand the responsibilities

A clinic team may include people with different roles. Clarify who assesses suitability, performs the procedure, obtains consent and manages complications. Ask who covers care when the treating practitioner is unavailable.

YOUR CARE / 03

Bring these questions to your consultation

Ask how often the practitioner performs the proposed procedure and how outcomes are reviewed. Request an explanation of the venue, insurance arrangements and how unexpected problems would be handled.
